Biography
Xueqing Yu (Xue) is a performance maker and sound designer based in Berlin, born in 1997 in Anhui, China. She develops her own performance works through movement, dance, and sound, and works as a sound designer for animation, short film, theatre, and collaborative artistic projects. Trained in classical piano, she later expanded into interdisciplinary artistic practices across performance and electroacoustic music.
Xue’s work often begins with personal experience and with listening to the situations of people around her, tracing how attention, perception, and deep desire enter the body and continually transform through repetition, duration, and structural organisation. By identifying subtle and underlying connections within difficult-to-resolve experiences and circumstances, stories, childhood memories, and imagination, she develops works that weave together poetic sensibility and an inner force of resistance.
